Went to pilates, I think it is 100% harder in this weather as the uni gym doesn't have air conditioning. then had a meeting for the journal I edit. We set our timeline for this year. This is the best time when everything is planned and before everything falls terribly behind schedule.

Now I am hanging out for Ladette to lady Oz, I loved the English ones I hope the Australian one is similarly amusing.

Had a nice weekend. Though didn't do any work, I always promise myself I will, and then I just don't. Must work on that, I know I need one day off, but if I could do half a day on the weekend I would get through this draft that bit faster.

Friday was fun, but god I have become such a lightweight with drinking, which I guess is what I was aiming for in some ways with cutting back, but I had wee hangover on Saturday, I woke up about 9am and looked at stuff on the internet then decided I needed more sleep and stayed in bed till 1pm. Actually I slept with my windows open and I think the smokey air gave me a headache too.
Then dragged myself out of bed and to the shops so i could make hot tea and buttered toast and then mooched some more.
Went to a benefit concert for PBS with lizey, which was fun, then we decided to have Valentines pasta and red wine at her place and just had super long chats, it was all very nice.

Yesterday I got up a bit late again, went for a run, then just mooched some more, tidied up the apartment, did some reading, did some weights (I have these pilates arm exercises that feel like they are really building muscle), made dinner, watched tv.

Should get down to work now as I want to head into uni about 3:30 to go to pilates.

I am so cross with myself, first I let a whole heap of book go overdue because I got my dates mixed up, I walked in to return them and forgot one, so had to go back. And I woke up late so the day is already almost over and I have so much more important things to do than to walk 40 mins each way to return stupid library books.
*cross*

And I got an email saying there are no tutors needed for the subjects I applied for. Stupid uni.

At least this video is here to make us laugh.

I can't really read or watch the news at the moment, it just makes me cry.
I am so happy that Nomes got out safe and sound and that those she knows are safe, even if they have lost houses.
I have donated some money to the red cross and am searching out what I have here to donate.

Just making this cake (below) and having a small whiskey, had a very stressful morning, though perhaps not as stressful as the person I was worrying about, but all ok.

I remember reading something about writing once that suggested you should leave a sentence half written in order to pick it up more easily. I don't really follow it religiously but I am thinking it might not be such a great move as I am currently sitting and looking at the following.

Personal accounts of seventeenth and eighteenth century visitors reflect this ‘theatrical’ attitude toward the garden on two levels. First, the sense that the experience of garden could be...

I have absolutely no idea what either of the two levels I was thinking of could be. Hmm. Ponder ponder.
